Countdown To WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 1 Pre-Show Results (4/18/26)
The Countdown To WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 1 Pre-Show opens up with a view of Las Vegas and Allegiant Stadium. We then get a video package looking at WrestleMania and its history.
We then see the arrivals of WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque and Drew McIntyre as Joe Tessitore welcomes us and he introduces Big E, Corey Graves and Wade Barrett as his co-hosts. Big E says he is looking forward to the Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer match. Corey then mentions the Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton match and Wade mentions the Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu match.
Cathy Kelley, Jackie Redmond, Byron Saxton and Peter Rosenberg are all around the stadium. Cathy says her neck is still hurting from what happened on Monday as she talks about the Liv Morgan and Stephanie Vaquer match. Byron Saxton then talks about Stephanie Vaquer and Jackie Redmond talks about Cody Rhodes. Peter Rosenberg then talks about Randy Orton and the panel talks about the Undisputed WWE Championship Match between Cody Rhodes and Randy Orton.
Wade Barrett then interviews Randy Orton. Wade mentions it has been 12 years since Randy’s last WrestleMania main event and he is asked if he is driven by legacy or something else. Randy says it is about legacy, but there is something personal about it. Randy then says he knows nothing lasts forever. Randy then says the next thing to accomplish is number 15. Randy then says he has Flair and Cena in his sights. Randy then says his goal is to leave with more gold around his waist than anyone else. Wade then asks about his return from injury, but his attitude has changed. He is then asked who is the real Randy Orton. Randy says both are who he is.
Randy then says he is not going to take anything in the ring for granted, but he won’t let anything get in the way. Randy then says he had someone in his ear to make sure the got the job done. Randy then says he knows what he has to do. Randy then mentions the voice and it reminded him what he had to do to be the bad man once again. Wade then mentions their time in Legacy and how Cody had to find himself. Randy says he is proud of Cody for doing what he did. Randy then says he got better and he came back. Randy then says Cody’s story was finished and now it is time for him to finish his. Randy then says he loves Cody like a brother now and he will after he beats Cody for the title. Randy then says Cody is hearing the voices tell him that he cannot do it. Randy then says Cody will have to be carried out.
We then take a look at the 6-Man Tag Team Match between WWE World Tag Team Champions The Vision (“The Maverick” Logan Paul and Austin Theory) and IShowSpeed vs. The Usos (“Main Event” Jey Uso and “Big Jim” Jimmy Uso) and “The Megastar” LA Knight with a video package and the panel talks about the match.
We then take a look at the Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match between AJ Lee and “The Man” Becky Lynch with a video package and the panel talks about the match.
Jackie Redmond then interviews AJ Lee and Jackie asks AJ what does this mean to her. AJ says everything she fought for a decade ago is happening today. AJ then says tonight is the ultimate mountain. AJ then says this is her Mount Everest. AJ then says 12 years ago she walked in and out as champion and it will happen again.
The panel then continues to talk about the Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match.
We then get a video package looking at several WWE Superstars doing some media all over Las Vegas and we take a look at ESPN and WWE in the build to WrestleMania.
Vic Joseph then interviews Sol Ruca. Vic asks Sol about the vibe at WrestleMania. Sol says it is great to be around. Sol then mentions she had a WrestleMania moment, but she hopes to be in a match next year. Vic then asks Sol about her match against ZARIA. Sol says it is ZARIA that is jealous and she hopes to be the last woman standing on Tuesday night. Vic then asks about Sol’s performance in the Royal Rumble and facing Bayley on the night of John Cena’s farewell. He then asks about being at WrestleMania. Sol says she will prove that she belongs here.
We then take a look at the Women’s World Championship Match between Stephanie Vaquer and Liv Morgan and the panel talks about the Women’s World Championship Match.
Cathy then interviews Stephanie Vaquer and Stephanie is asked about her WrestleMania debut. Stephanie says she has worked her entire life to get to WrestleMania. Stephanie then says she has worked her entire life to have this title. Stephanie then says this is the most important match of her career. Stephanie then says for Liv is about fame and self promotion. Stephanie then says tonight is about her journey.
Wade Barrett has left the panel to get ready to call the show and Jackie Redmond and Peter Rosenberg are now inside Allegiant Stadium to show the stage and they talk about the reveal.
Michael Cole is now inside the ring and he talks about the Hall of Fame honoring the WrestleMania 3 main event. Cole then mentions this is the first WrestleMania without Hulk Hogan. Cole then gives his thoughts on Hulk Hogan. Cole then mentions that he got to call one Hulk Hogan match at WrestleMania.
We then take a look at the Unsanctioned Match between Drew McIntyre and Jacob Fatu with a video package.
Byron Saxton then interviews Drew McIntyre and Byron asks Drew about Jacob Fatu’s comments on SmackDown. Drew says he isn’t playing mind games. Drew then says he is telling the truth. Drew then says you cannot play mind games with someone who doesn’t have a brain. Drew then says while he was getting an education, Fatu was in jail. Drew then says he took criminology and he learned that criminals re-offend. Drew then says you took my title. Drew then says you took my WrestleMania. Drew then says he will use every weapon against Jacob. Drew then says it is for Fatu’s wife and kids because you will be back in the joint. Drew then says he might not be everyone’s hero, but he is the hero you need.
WWE Hall of Famer Shawn Michaels then joins the panel and we take a look back at the Bret Hart/Shawn Michaels Iron Man Match. The panel then talks about the match.
We then get a video package looking at the stars that began their WWE careers in NXT and are now competing at WrestleMania. Corey Graves asks Shawn if he knew that match would mean so much to people. Shawn says Bret might have thought that way, but he was thinking day to day. Shawn then says he didn’t think about the long term impact then. Shawn then says he isn’t a fan of knowing a match is going to go an hour instead of not knowing it. Shawn then says there is no one other than Bret he would rather be out there with. They then ask Shawn about the new talent on this year’s show. Shawn says he is proud of the people who come through NXT.
Shawn then mentions Trick, Oba, Je’Von and Lash. Shawn then says they knew that Lash was something special. Shawn then says all of them had something. Shawn then says will they be as special as we think they will be. Shawn then says you get worried about being disappointed, but these four are going to be some of the most successful of the future. Corey then asks about seeing when the young talent gets it. Shawn says you can see that are special. Shawn then says they look like they have potential. Shawn then says many have had potential and it didn’t work out. Shawn then says none of these people were afraid to be coached. Shawn then says you could challenge them and test them to push them. Shawn then says they stood up to that testing.
We then get a video package looking at the top 10 moments of celebrities competing and appearing at WrestleMania.
Cathy Kelley then interviews IShowSpeed. Speed says it is crazy that he is wrestling at WrestleMania. Speed then says he feels like he is at a point where he has to give his all. Speed then says he is nervous. Speed then says he doesn’t know how he got into this. He is then asked about his training. Speed says it has been hectic. Speed then says they are motivational, but he hopes everything goes well.
We then go to The Miz and he is interrupted by Danhausen in a blimp. Miz then finishes up his announcement.
Michael Cole then mentions an interview he did with Roman Reigns. Cole asks if things feel different when he is not there. Roman mentions this is his family business and he says he was born for this. Roman then says this is God’s plan to put him in this position. Roman then says this is what he was meant to do. Cole then asks about Roman and WrestleMania and having 11 main events. Roman says that is his legacy. Roman then says he would tell the twins that they are representing the family and their legacy.
Roman then says to have 11 main events, that is something he is proud of. He is then asked about CM Punk and 2012 with The Shield. Roman says nothing drew him to Punk. Roman then says the higher powers put him into the group. Roman then says Punk was cool to him and they traveled and trained with him. Roman then says you don’t take out what is going on with the office on the boys. Roman then says he was being CM Punk and he took his ball and went home. Cole then asks if Roman is irked because Punk wasn’t here while you were rising to the top. It is announced that the conversation will continue tomorrow.
Shawn Michael is still with the panel and they talk about Roman Reigns and the WWE World Heavyweight Championship Match on Sunday.
WWE Hall of Famer AJ Styles then joins the panel. Shawn Michaels has left the panel and they talk about Styles’ Hall of Fame induction and the induction ceremony as a whole. Corey says he has seen AJ more since he lost to GUNTHER. AJ then says he is trying to recruit the best for WWE. Corey then asks how does it feel to not be an active wrestler at WrestleMania. AJ then says he doesn’t have to worry about the pressure of a match. AJ then says he only had to focus on his family.
We then get a video package looking at past WrestleManias and WrestleMania 42.
The panel then continue their discussion and Joe Tessitore asks AJ Styles about the Pat McAfee situation.
We then see the card for tonight’s WrestleMania 42 Night 1 and Peter Rosenberg talks about Randy Orton.
Jackie Redmond then talks about Cody Rhodes and the panel talks about the Undisputed WWE Championship Match.
Joe Tessitore then interviews Cody Rhodes. Cody was asked about his return to WWE in 2022. Cody says he is the golden boy because of his relationship with WrestleMania before he returned. Cody then says he was the farthest from WrestleMania. Cody then says. to come back and main event makes this special. Joe then asks about returning to Vegas to face one of his best friends. Cody says you cannot reconcile the situation. Cody then says he thought he would get the man who had his first match against see him and see that he has changed. Cody then says Randy will do everything to get to fifteen. Joe then asks about Cody wanting this version of Randy and if he regrets it. Cody says he was there for 2009 Randy Orton and there was stuff he did that was so bad. Joe then asks about Pat.
Cody says Pat being the man on the phone is the most disappointing reveal in pro wrestling history. Cody then says he would tell Pat they need to get him a replica belt and he can do his entrance and he can go back to whoever sent him and say thank you daddy. Cody then says Pat has allowed the wrestling fans agree that no one wants Pat at WrestleMania. Joe then mentions that Randy says Cody is not a killer. Cody then asks what is a killer. Cody then says is it jumping people from behind. Cody then says no. Cody then says Randy is as fake as ever and he is willing to match Randy. Joe then brings up outside forces getting in the way of his WrestleMania journey again. Cody says this is what we do during WrestleMania season. Cody then says we thrive and this is part of the territory. Cody then says he has to be ready for Randy because he is not wrestling any outside forces.
Jackie Redmond then takes over for the final hour and Corey Graves, Joe Tessitore and Big E have made their way inside Allegiant Stadium.
Joe Tessitore then interviews Triple H. Joe asks Triple H why he has been able to transition from a role as wrestler to an executive. Triple H says he had a relationship with Vince early in his career and he was invited to meetings. Triple H then says Vince had Pat Patterson and Jack Lanza teach him. Triple H then says he was interested in learning those things. Triple H then says he never thought about the role he currently has. Joe then asks about Liv and Stephanie. Triple H says Stephanie has gotten to good and so fast so quickly but she just got here. Triple H then says the issues was finding places to go through it. Triple H then says people thought Liv would be the eye candy, but she wants to be one of the greats.
Triple H then says Stephanie tries to prove she belongs. Triple H then says Liv is trying to prove that she belongs in an in ring role. Joe then asks about Cody and Randy and their legacies. Triple H says this is probably one of Cody’s most personal matches. Triple H then says they will stand in the ring on the biggest platform and they have something to prove. Triple H then says Randy will prove that he can still live up to the accolades. Triple H then says Cody has to prove that these are things that QB1 needs to do. Joe then asks what would mean that he did a good job. Triple H says the ardent fans thing this is amazing and the first time fans go holy s***, that is not what I expected and I will keep watching.
We then take a look at Seth Rollins and GUNTHER with a video package and the panel talks about the match.
Peter Rosenberg is now in the backstage area and he shows where the Superstars will be walking when they head to the ramp and down to the ring. Cathy Kelley is now at the bottom of the ramp and Byron Saxton is in the front row. Jackie Redmond is now standing where the Usos will make their entrance through the crowd.
We then take a look at the Women’s World Championship Match with a video package and the panel talks about the match.
The panel then talks about the Women’s Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match. Big E mentions Nikki Bella being in a walking boot last night when he interviewed The Bellas
The entire card of WrestleMania 42 Night 1 is then shown and Joe Tessitore talks about some of the matches.
We then take a look at the Undisputed WWE Championship Match with a video package and the panel talks about the match.
Alicia Taylor then makes her way down to the ring and she introduces Wade Barrett and Michael Cole to the ring.
The panel, Jackie Redmond and Peter Rosenberg then talk about the opening match for tonight’s WrestleMania 42 Night 1, which is the 6-Man Tag Team Match and it is shown how the match ended up being made.

WWE WrestleMania 42 Saturday Results (4/18/2026)
WWE WrestleMania 42 Night 1 opens up with a video package narrated by Lin-Manuel Miranda.
Michael Cole and Wade Barrett then welcomes us to the show as WrestleMania 42 host John Cena’s music hits and he makes his way down to the ring.
John then grabs a mic and starts off by saying he didn’t expect that and he thanks the fans. John then says he is a long time fan, a long time performer and a first time host. John then asks how is he doing. John then says this year’s Road to WrestleMania has been chaos and unpredictable. John then says it has been very vocal. John then says one could say it is polarizing. John then says he knows why he got the hosting gig. John then says this is what he loves the most. John then says we are all here for the same reason. John then says we know the time to talk is up. John then says the time to deliver is now. John then says we are all here with one thing on our minds. John then says who will stand up and deliver. John then says it is such a great honor to welcome everyone to WrestleMania.
The Usos then make their way down to the ring for the first match of WrestleMania 42 Night 1 and LA Knight follows. The Vision and IShowSpeed then make their way down to the ring next.
6-Man Tag Team Match: WWE World Tag Team Champions The Vision (“The Maverick” Logan Paul and Austin Theory) and IShowSpeed vs. The Usos (“Main Event” Jey Uso and “Big Jim” Jimmy Uso) and “The Megastar” LA Knight
The match starts off with Jimmy and Jey hitting super kicks to Theory and Logan. Knight then starts off with Speed and Speed cinches in a side head lock. Knight then walks around with an IShowSpeed necklace. Speed then lands on his feet and he goes to the turnbuckles for a moonsault, but Knight does not charge into the corner so he lands on his feet and he clotheslines Speed. Knight then knocks Logan off the apron and Speed hits a slam to Knight, but Knight wants to know what the hell he is thinking. Speed then tags Logan into the match and Knight brings him into the ring. Logan is then sent into the turnbuckles and Knight kicks Logan.
Knight then chokes Logan and tags in Jey. Jey then punches Logan from the turnbuckles. Jimmy then tags in and they hit a double back elbow and a double elbow drop for a near fall. Jimmy then hits a chop, but Logan hits a kick. Austin then tags in and he hits a slingshot rolling drop kick when Jimmy focuses on Logan. Austin then punches Jimmy. Logan then tags in and they hit a double suplex and they pose. They then tag Speed in and he picks up Jimmy for a suplex, but Jimmy counters with a suplex of his own. Logan then tags back in and he knocks Knight off the apron.
Logan then hits a knee and a punch to Jimmy. Logan then hits a forearm and several. punches to Jimmy. Jimmy then hits an uppercut and a Whisper in the Wind and both men are down. Jey and Austin then tag in and Jey hits several punches. Theory then gets Jey up, but Jey gets back to his feet and Jey hits a spear for a near fall. Logan then hits a gut-wrench suplex to Jey, but Jimmy hits a super kick. Theory then hits a punch to Jimmy. Theory then sends Jey into the ring post shoulder first. Jimmy then hits a super kick to Austin and Speed gets in the ring.
Speed then hits a head scissors to Jimmy and Knight hits a kick. Speed then escapes a BFT, but Speed sends Knight into Logan to knock him off the apron. Austin then yells at Speed and he tells him to get revenge for what Knight did. Knight then sends Austin into Speed and Knight hits a kick and a BFT to Austin for the win.

After the match, Logan yells at Speed and he punches Speed. Logan then tells Speed he had one job and he ruined their WrestleMania. Logan then sends Speed to the floor and he adjusts the announce desk. Logan then puts Speed on the table and Logan goes to the turnbuckles for a frog splash through the table. Jey then pulls Logan off the turnbuckles and the Usos hit the 1D. Knight then pulls Speed off the table and back into the ring. They then tell Speed to go up top and take care of Logan. Knight then puts Logan on the announce desk. Speed then hits a frog splash onto Logan through the table. The Usos and Knight then celebrate with Speed.
Unsanctioned Match: “The Samoan Werewolf” Jacob Fatu vs. “The Scottish Warrior” Drew McIntyre
The match starts off with Fatu hitting a suicide dive when Drew gets to ringside. Fatu then sends Drew into the ringside barrier and the ring post. Fatu then sends Drew over the ringside barrier. Fatu then goes under the ring for a few tables. He then puts one in the ring and he tosses some chairs into the ring. Fatu then kicks Drew and punches him when Drew gets up. Fatu then gets the tool box and pours the contents to the mat. Drew then falls down when he sees the tool box and he gives Fatu a drop toe hold when Fatu charges at him. Drew then sends Fatu into the apron and he catapults him into the frame of the ring.
Drew then sets up for a power bomb through the table on the floor, but Fatu backs Drew into the ring post. Drew then hits a clothesline to a charging Fatu on the floor. Drew then takes a phone and takes some selfies. Drew then punches Fatu with the phone. Drew then returns the phone to his brother. Drew then sends Fatu into the ring. Drew then has a wrench, but Fatu hits a clothesline. Drew then hits a kick and Fatu hits a clothesline and a back senton. Fatu then hits a splash into the corner. Fatu then hits several head butts from the turnbuckles. Fatu then hits a running hip into the corner. Fatu then struts and he gyrates. Fatu then hits a pop up Samoan drop for a near fall.
Fatu then gets a chair and Drew hits a flying head butt to Fatu. Drew then puts the chair in the turnbuckles. Drew then tries to send Fatu into the chair, but Fatu reverses. Drew then stops short and he hits an elbow. Fatu then hits a splash, but he misses and hits the ring post. Drew then hits an overhead belly-to-belly suplex. Fatu then goes to the floor. Drew then hits a flip dive onto Fatu. Drew hen sends Fatu back into the ring and he sets up for a Claymore. Fatu then drops down and Drew misses. Fatu then sends Drew into the chair in the turnbuckles. Fatu then hits a double jump moonsault for a near fall.
Drew then hits Fatu in the knee with a wrench and he punches Fatu with the wrench. Drew then drives the wrench into the eye. Drew then sets up a few chairs and he goes for a Broken Arrow through the chairs. Drew then gets a near fall. Drew then yells at the referee and Drew takes the referee’s belt. Drew then sets to whip Fatu, but Fatu hits a thrust kick. Fatu then hits Drew in the back with the chair. Fatu then hits Drew with another chair. Fatu then gets the belt and he whips Drew with it several times. Fatu then grabs the tool box, but Drew hits a Claymore for a near fall. Drew then grabs the referee and yells at him about the count.
Drew and Fatu then exchange punches. Drew then hits a chop and Fatu hits a kick. They then slap each other. Drew then hits several punches and Fatu hits several head butts. Fatu then gets the table in the ring to set it up. Fatu then slams Drew’s head into the table and Fatu hits a head butt. Fatu then hits Drew with a chair on the table. Fatu then goes up top, but Drew falls off the table and throws a chair at Fatu and fe hits Fatu with the chair on the turnbuckles. Drew then pushes Fatu off the turnbuckles and he hits a senton through the table. Drew then sends Fatu back into the ring. Fatu then hits a thrust kick and follows it up with a second one. Fatu then hits Drew in the head with the tool box. Fatu then hits a double jump moonsault through a table for the win.

Alexa Bliss and Charlotte Flair then make their way down to the ring for the next match of WrestleMania 42 Night 1 and Lyra Valkyria and Bayley and The Irresistible Forces follow. The Bella Twins then make their way down to the ring, but Nikki Bella is on a crutch. Nikki says she was not medically cleared to wrestle. Nikki then says she is not going to ruin Brie’s opportunity so she called an old friend and it is none other than Paige.
WWE Women’s Tag Team Championship Fatal 4-Way Match: The Irresistible Forces (Nia Jax and “The Boujee Bully” Lash Legend) (c) vs. Charlexa “The Queen” Charlotte Flair and Alexa Bliss vs. Bayley and Lyra Valkyria vs. WWE Hall of Famer Brie Bella and Paige
The match starts off with Lash sending Brie to the mat and Lash hits a forearm to Bayley. Alexa then cinches in a chin lock, but Lash throws her off. Lash then hits a clothesline to Alexa. Nia then tags in and Nia gets Bayley up. Lash then hits a bicycle kick and a Samoan drop combination. Alexa then escapes a splash. Flair then tags in and she hits a cross body. Flair then sends Nia to the floor and she chops Brie. Lyra then tags in and Lyra goes for a missile drop kick. Flair then catches her, but Brie gets a rollup for a near fall. Brie then sends Lyra’s boot into Flair. Brie then hits several kicks to Flair and Lyra. Brie then hits an enzuigiri to Lyra and she kicks Flair. Nia then sends Brie into the ringside barrier. Lash then tags in and she choke slams Brie onto the apron. Flair then kicks Nia off the apron, but Lash hits a boot to Flair.
Flair then hits a boot to Lash and Flair hits a back breaker. Alexa then tags in and she hits a DDT off the turnbuckles. Lyra then tags in and she hits Alexa with a shoulder tackle and a kick in the corner. Bayley then hits an elbow to Alexa and Lyra hits a forearm to Alexa. Lyra then hits a back breaker and Bayley hits an elbow drop for a near fall. Lash then sends Brie into the corner. Alexa and Lyra then go for a double superplex on Brie, but Lash goes under for the double choke slam. Brie then hits a missile drop kick to Lash. Everyone is down in the ring. Nia, Bayley and Flair then tag in. Flair then hits a boot to Bayley, but Nia hits a head butt to Flair. Paige then tags in and she punches Nia.
Paige then hit clotheslines to everyone and a fisherman’s suplex to Bayley. Lash then sends Paige to the apron and Paige hits some knees on the apron and Lash falls to the floor. Paige then hits a cross body to Lyra, but Lyra rolls through and she gets Paige up for a Night Wing and Paige escapes. Paige then hits a Paige Turner, but Bayley breaks up the cover. Nia then hits a Samoan drop to Bayley and she goes for a power bomb to Brie, but they go to the floor. Lash then hits a Lash Extension on Lyra, but Paige and Flair break it up. Flair and Paige then hits a double super kick to Lash followed by a double clothesline to send Lash to the floor.
Paige then hits a forearm and Flair fires back. The exchange then continues. Flair then hits a chop and a take down. Paige then counters a figure four into an inside cradle. Flair then hits a Natural Selection. Alexa then tags in, but Nikki pulls Flair out and hits Flair with the crutch. Paige then gets her knees up on a Twisted Bliss and Paige hits a Rampaige for the win.

After the match, Michael Cole is overcome with emotions and after 25 years at WrestleMania commentating he is emotional with Paige winning.
Becky Lynch then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of WrestleMania 42 Night 1 and AJ Lee follows.
WWE Women’s Intercontinental Championship Match: AJ Lee (c) vs. “The Man” Becky Lynch
The match starts off with Becky hitting a kick and a forearm. AJ then hits an arm drag and she cinches in an arm bar. Becky then stomps on AJ’s foot and Becky misses a drop kick when AJ hangs in the ropes. AJ then sends Becky to the floor when Becky charges at her. Becky then catches AJ off the apron and she hits a fallaway slam into the ringside barrier. Becky then sends AJ into the apron. Becky then goes up top and she hits a leg drop for a near fall. Becky then slams AJ’s head into the mat. Becky then hits a forearm into the corner followed by an exploder for a near fall.
Becky then slams AJ’s head into the mat. Becky then exposes the turnbuckle and she pulls off the pad. The referee then puts it back on and Becky yells at the referee. The referee then responds to Becky. AJ then gets an inside cradle for a near fall. AJ then hits several forearms. Becky then hits an Irish whip, but AJ hits a knee and Becky avoids a tornado DDT. AJ then hits several back elbows and a clothesline against the ropes. Becky then hits a forearm against the ropes. AJ then slides and trips Becky. AJ then goes up top and she hits a missile drop kick for a near fall. Becky then blocks a side Russian leg sweep and AJ hits a Shining Wizard and she gets a near fall. AJ then hits a punch and Becky goes for a uranage, but AJ hits an arm drag to counter.
AJ then hits a kick and she goes for Black Widow, but Becky swings AJ into the turnbuckle before she can apply it. Becky then hits a Manhandle slam for a near fall. Becky then hits several kicks in the corner and the referee warns Becky. Becky then gets in the referee’s face. The referee then pushes Becky after Becky pushed her. AJ then hits a jumping uranage for a near fall. Becky then goes for a Manhandle slam, but AJ counters into a Black Widow and Becky pulls AJ’s hair to escape and she punches AJ. AJ then splashes Becky in the corner, but the referee gets in the middle. Becky then hits the exposed turnbuckle, but she is fine. Becky then sends AJ into the exposed turnbuckle and she hits a Manhandle slam for the win.

Singles Match: Seth “Freakin” Rollins vs. “The Ring General” GUNTHER
The match starts off with GUNTHER hitting a drop kick and a German suplex. GUNTHER then hits a power bomb. Seth then goes to the floor. GUNTHER then goes to the floor and Seth hits some thumbs to the eyes and he punches GUNTHER. Seth then hits several knees and he sends GUNTHER over the announce desk. Seth then hits several punches and he sends GUNTHER over the other announce desk. Seth then hits several forearms and knees. Seth then hits GUNTHER with a chair and throws another one at him. Seth and GUNTHER then return to the ring.
They then throw punches and GUNTHER hits a chop. Seth then hits a boot and GUNTHER hits a boot of his own. GUNTHER then goes for a sleeper and he goes for a German suplex, but Seth lands on his feet and he kicks GUNTHER. Seth then stomps on GUNTHER’s head. GUNTHER then stops a stomp with a clothesline. GUNTHER then kicks Seth in the head. GUNTHER then hits several chops to send Seth to the mat. GUNTHER then hits an elbow to the bridge of the nose and he follows it up with knees and chops. Seth then gets in GUNTHER’s face and GUNTHER pushes him away. They then slap each other. GUNTHER then stands on Seth.
GUNTHER then hits a forearm to Seth on the apron followed by a chop to the back. GUNTHER then sends Seth into the turnbuckles on the apron. GUNTHER then goes for a dead lift superplex, but Seth counters into a buckle bomb. Seth then misses a stomp and GUNTHER hits a German suplex. Seth then hits a German suplex. GUNTHER then hits a clothesline and Seth responds with a clothesline of his own. GUNTHER then kicks Seth in the head a few times and Seth hits a forearm. GUNTHER then hits several punches and Seth punches back. Seth then hits a forearm and GUNTHER hits a chop. They then exchange chops. Seth then spits in GUNTHER’s face and he chops GUNTHER. Seth then hits several Kobashi chops and GUNTHER hits a power bomb for a near fall.
GUNTHER then hits a short arm clothesline. GUNTHER then hits another clothesline. Seth then floats over to counter a clothesline, but GUNTHER hits a back body drop to avoid a Pedigree. Seth then hits a knee after missing a stomp. GUNTHER then hits a back drop into a jackknife cover for a near fall. Seth then hits a Pedigree and a stomp for a near fall. Seth then goes to the turnbuckles and he goes for a stomp, but he misses. Seth then gets an O’Connor Roll and GUNTHER kicks out and he applies a sleeper. Seth then gets back to his feet and he escapes. Seth then hits a rolling elbow and follows it up with a second one.
Seth then goes for a third one, but GUNTHER hits a clothesline. GUNTHER then goes up top for a frog splash, but Seth leaps to the turnbuckles for a superplex into a Falcon Arrow for a near fall. Seth then cinches in a sleeper on GUNTHER. GUNTHER then gets to the ropes to force a break. GUNTHER then rolls to the floor. Seth then hits a suicide dive to GUNTHER. Seth then sets up for a second one and he hits it. Seth then goes for a third one and GUNTHER catches him and he power bombs Seth onto the apron and the announce desk. GUNTHER then picks up Seth and they go onto the announce desk. Seth then escapes a power bomb and Seth hits a pedigree on the able. Seth then cleans off the other announce desk and Seth hits a stomp on the announce desk.
Bron Breakker then spears Seth Rollins, but the referee does not see it. Bron then sends Seth back into the ring. GUNTHER then cinches in a sleeper and he applies a body scissors. Seth then passes out when GUNTHER traps the arm.
The winner of the Singles Match, “The Ring General” GUNTHER!
After the match, Bron runs the length of the ramp to spear Seth and he tells Seth he should have finished him off when he had the chance. Paul Heyman then stands at the top of the ramp and he hugs Bron.
The WWE Hall of Fame class of 2026 then appear on the stage.
Liv Morgan then makes her way down to the ring for the next match of WrestleMania 42 Night 1 and Stephanie Vaquer follows.
WWE Women’s World Championship Match: “La Primera” Stephanie Vaquer (c) vs. The Judgment Day’s Liv Morgan
The match starts off with Vaquer hitting a double leg take down and they exchange punches. Vaquer then sends Liv into the ringside barrier and follows it up with a splash into the corner and a running double knee strike. Vaquer then goes to the turnbuckles and Liv stops her. Liv then hits a springboard sunset flip power bomb for a near fall. Liv then hits several forearms to the back. Liv then hits a suplex and she holds on for a second one. Liv then holds on for the third Amiga. Liv then hits an enzuigiri. Liv then goes up top and she misses a frog splash when Vaquer gets her feet up. Vaquer then hits a belly-to-back suplex and she follows it up with a Devil’s Kiss.
Vaquer then hits a butterfly face buster for a near fall. Vaquer then sets up for SVB, but Liv escapes. Liv then hits a lungblower and she slaps Vaquer. Liv then sets up for a Devil’s Kiss, but Vaquer gets a victory roll for a near fall. Vaquer then hits an SVB for a near fall. Liv then hits a Code breaker and Vaquer hits an obLIVion for a near fall. Vaquer then goes to the turnbuckles, but Roxanne Perez shows up on the apron to distract the referee. Raquel then drops Vaquer on the top roe and Liv hits an obLIVion for a near fall. Vaquer then hits a kick and Vaquer knocks Perez and Raquel off he apron. Liv then goes for a suicide dive, but Vaquer moves and Liv hits Raquel. Vaquer then hits a springboard cross body and she hits Raquel and Perez. Liv then sends Vaquer into the ring steps and she hits a Code breaker off the turnbuckles followed by an obLIVion for the win.

Pat McAfee makes his way down to the ring for the main event of WrestleMania 42 Night 1 and Randy Orton follows. Cody Rhodes then makes his way down to the ring next. Alicia Taylor’s mic is taken away as Pat McAfee decides to announce Randy Orton instead.
Undisputed WWE Championship Match: “The American Nightmare” Cody Rhodes (c) vs. “The Viper” Randy Orton
The match starts off with Pat McAfee attacking Cody Rhodes with a mic. He then beats him down and Randy attacks as well. Cody then wastes no time and hits the Cross Rhodes on Pat. Cody then kicks Pat to the floor and Cody adjusts the announce desk. Jelly Roll then shows up and he goes to the other announce desk and hits an elbow drop on Pat through the table. A stretcher is then brought out to take Pat away. Randy then gets into the ring and both men lock up and go to a stalemate. Randy then cinches in a side head lock and he hits a shoulder tackle. They then lock up and Cody cinches in a side head lock and Randy hits a shoulder tackle.
Randy then hits a European uppercut and he sends Cody into the turnbuckles. Randy then hits an Irish whip and Cody floats over. Cody then hits a drop down punch and a power slam. Cody then goes for a Cody Cutter, but Randy catches him. Randy then hits a back breaker and Randy has trouble getting back to his feet. Randy then hits a thumb to the eyes. Randy then hits a snap mare and he cinches in a reverse chin lock. Cody then hits a belly-to-back suplex and Randy goes to the floor. Randy then kicks Cody and sends him back into the ring. Cody then kicks Randy as he gets back into the ring. Cody then sends Randy into the turnbuckles. Cody then cinches in a single leg crab.
Cody then hits a forearm to the lower back. Cody then hits a knee to the back. Cody then hits a punch in the corner followed by a hard Irish whip. Randy then returns to the floor and Cody follows. Cody then hits Randy in the back and they return to the ring. Cody then gets a near fall. Cody the cinches in a waist lock. Randy then hits several elbows to escape. Randy then hits an Irish whip and Cody floats over and gets a near fall with a rollup. Cody then hits a forearm to the lower back. Cody then hits a suplex and he gets a near fall. The referee then checks on Randy and Cody goes up top. Randy then trips Cody and Cody is crotched.
Cody then hit several punches and Randy hits a superplex. Randy then feels the pain in his back. Randy then hit two clotheslines and he ducks a clothesline from Cody. Randy then hits a power slam. Randy then sends Cody to the apron for a draping DDT and he hits it. Randy then punches the mat to set up for an RKO, but Cody blocks it and he sends Randy to the floor. Cody then goes for a suicide dive, but Randy punches Cody. Randy then hits a back drop driver onto the announce desk. Randy then takes a sip of water and he grabs Cody. Cody then sends Randy into the ring post. Randy then gets back into the ring and Cody follows. Randy is bleeding from the forehead and Cody punches Randy’s forehead. Cody then hits several punches and Randy bounces off the ropes. Cody then kicks Randy.
Cody then punches Randy and he says something to Randy. Cody then hits a Beautiful Disaster and Cody gets a near fall. Cody then wipes the blood off Randy’s forehead and rubs it on his chest.Cody with a punch. Cody then sends Randy to the apron. Randy then collapses on the apron. Cody then sets up for a draping DDT and he hits it. Cody then punches the mat and he sets for a cutter, but Orton punches the mat and Cody counters an RKO with a back slide for a near fall. Cody then hits a cutter for a near fall. Randy then goes to the floor and Cody sends Randy into the announce desk. Cody then hits a back drop driver onto the announce desk. Cody then sends Randy back into the ring. Cody then sets up for a Cody Cutter, but Randy hits an RKO for a near fall.
Randy then punches Cody and Cody punches back. Randy then hits a kick and Cody hits a forearm. They then exchange punches. Cody then hits a thumb to the eye and Randy hits the referee with an RKO. Cody then checks on the referee and Randy waits for Cody to turn around to kick Cody in the nether regions. Cody then blocks it and Cody kicks Randy. Cody then goes for the double jump Cody Cutter, but Randy hits an RKO and the referee is still out. Pat then comes to the ring in a neck brace and a referee shirt and Cody kicks out. Pat then says something to Randy and Randy hits an RKO. Cody then hit the Cross Rhodes for the win.

After the match, Randy Orton grabs the Undisputed WWE Championship belt from Cody Rhodes and hits him with it. He then hits a Punt on Cody and grabs the Undisputed WWE Championship once again and holds it in hand as WrestleMania 42 Night 1 comes to a close.
