WWE may be freshening up the presentation of Saturday Night’s Main Event as John Cena’s in-ring career is nearing its end.
When SNME returned earlier this year, it featured a retro, 1980s-inspired look as a tribute to the original specials. However, according to a report from WrestleVotes Radio, WWE is now planning to update that presentation.
WWE has reportedly had discussions about the change since August. It’s unknown if the presentation change will be permanent or temporary for this weekend’s special, which will feature the final match of John Cena’s career.
Additionally, The January Montreal edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event is still being locally promoted using the retro branding,
WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event goes live on December 18 at 8:00 pm ET. The event takes place at the Capital One Arena in Washington, D.C. It will air live on Peacock in the U.S. and on Netflix internationally. Here’s the current lineup:
