Backstage Update On Kevin Owens Recovery Status

Kevin Owens has been absent from WWE since April 2025. He was scheduled to face Randy Orton in a singles match at WrestleMania 41, but on the April 4 episode of SmackDown, he announced that he was dealing with a neck injury that would require surgery.

Owens later confirmed that he underwent neck fusion surgery in July 2025.

Bodyslam is reporting that Kevin Owens is set to undergo re-evaluation this summer to see how things are moving along regarding his recovery. Another source noted that WWE is hopeful Kevin Owens will be able to return to the ring at some point in 2026.

In August of 2025 he noted that he was keeping his fingers crossed for a potential return.

“The thing is now we have to see how the bones fuse, and there’s no guarantee that it’s going to work. It’s all my body heals, and we’ll see. Some guys had success, some guys didn’t. Fingers crossed, I get to come back to wrestling in the next year.”

Stay tuned for more updates.
