Backstage Update on Tommaso Ciampa’s Signing with AEW

Tommaso Ciampa announced on January 21 that he would be leaving WWE when his contract expired. Just few days later He made his debuted on AEW Dynamite on Wednesday and was revealed as Mark Briscoe’s opponent for Saturday’s episode of Collision. Following his appearance on Dynamite, AEW President and CEO Tony Khan confirmed that Ciampa is now officially part of AEW.

According to Fightful Select, sources close to the situation reported that both parties reached an agreement just two days before his appearance on Dynamite, specifically on Monday, January 26th.

Ciampa recently spoke with Sports Illustratedand shared that he had been “leaning toward” leaving WWE. He also explained his reasons for joining All Elite Wrestling. You can read more about that here.
