The March 16 episode of WWE RAW ended with a back and forth promo segment between World Heavyweight Champion CM Punk and former WWE Undisputed Champion Roman Reigns. The Tribal Chief referred to Punk as “old” and Punk responded by knocking Reigns to the ground with a punch. WWE Producers and General Manager Adam Pearce ran out to separate them.
Sources indicated to Bodyslam this was not the original creative direction for the main event segment involving CM Punk and Roman Reigns. According to the report the original plan was for Roman Reigns to respond to CM Punk’s line about his father with a darker response that would have seen him mention Larry.
Roman Reigns is set to challenge CM Punk for the World Heavyweight Championship at WrestleMania 42 in Las Vegas.
