Backstage News On Why Royce keys Skips NXT For WWE Main Roster

Royce Keys made his WWE debut at the Royal Rumble, entering the men’s Royal Rumble at number 14 and lasting just under ten minutes. However, He hasn’t appeared on WWE TV since that night. Now, a new report has revealed why he skips NXT For WWE Main Roster.

Fightful Select is reporting that Keys was firm about being placed on the main roster rather than going to NXT during his contract negotiations. Other wrestlers have taken a similar approach when joining WWE including PENTA and Rey Fenix.

Even though Keys hasn’t been on TV since the Royal Rumble, he has still been active behind the scenes. addition to filming an episode of Stephanie McMahon’s podcast, he was scanned for an upcoming WWE 2K video game appearance and has been traveling to television tapings each week, where he has been working dark matches. WWE has also filmed additional projects involving Keys, though there’s no word on what it is yet. Keys signed a multi-year contract with WWE shortly after finishing up with AEW.
