Record Number of Women’s Matches Reportedly Being Planned for WrestleMania 42

WrestleVotes Radio on Fightful Select is reporting that there is an idea within WWE creative that could see six women’s matches featured on the card for WrestleMania 42. It’s being said that the actual state of the matches wasn’t revealed, but if WWE does move forward with the plans it would be a new record for WrestleMania. Currently WrestleMania 36 holds the record for most women’s matches on a WrestleMania card as the show featured five including Liv Morgan vs. Natalya which took place on the pre-show.

WrestleMania 42 currently features two women’s matches confirmed, which are the WWE Women’s World Championship match of Liv Morgan vs. Stephanie Vaquer (c) and the WWE Women’s Championship match of Rhea Ripley vs. Jade Cargill (c).

WrestleMania 42 will air live from Allegiant Stadium on Saturday, April 18 and Sunday, April 19, 2026.
