Tommaso Ciampa is expected to leave WWE once his contract expires according to new reports.
Bodyslam is reporting that sources have indicated Tommaso Ciampa’s contract with WWE is set to expire and he’s planning to finish up with the company without renewing his contract. At this stage, it is unclear whether Ciampa intends to continue wrestling elsewhere or step away from the ring altogether once his WWE run concludes. Ciampa’s tag partner, Johnny Gargano, is expected to continue as a singles wrestler on SmackDown.
On Friday’s SmackDown, Gargano unsuccessfully challenged Carmelo Hayes for the United States Championship. He was accompanied to the ring by his wife Candice LeRae, with Ciampa notably absent from his corner.
Ciampa was last seen on WWE programming during the December 19 episode of SmackDown. In that appearance, he teamed with Gargano in a losing effort against the team of Ilja Dragunov and Carmelo Hayes.
