Triple H Booed After John Cena’s WWE Retirement Match Loss

John Cena lost his last match via submission to Gunther in the main event of Saturday Night’s Main Event tonight in Washington, D.C. Gunther secured the victory with a sleeper hold, forcing Cena to tap out.

Following the match, WWE Chief Content Officer Paul “Triple H” Levesque, Stephanie McMahon, WWE officials, and backstage crew members entered the ring. The crowd booed Levesque and chanted “You f***ed up.”

CM Punk and Cody Rhodes then joined Cena in the ring and presented him with their championships, which drew a positive response. Cena himself continued to receive a warm and respectful ovation during the tribute.

As Levesque stepped onto the ring apron and reached out to shake Cena’s hand, the boos immediately returned.
