On John Cena’s final WWE RAW match in New York, he had an impromptu Intercontinental Championship match against Dominik Mysterio for the Intercontinental Championship. The Cenation Leader won the match and, in turn, officially made him a Grand Slam Champion. However, the story between the two men didn’t ended there.
At Survivor Series: WarGames 2025, John Cena put the Intercontinental title on the line again against The Judgment Day member. When this match got started, Dominik dominated Cena and Raquel Rodriguez got up on the apron then struck Cena while the referee was distracted. Dom rolled out of the ring after Cena got the upper hand, so Roxanne and Raquel blocked Cena as he tried to chase Dominik. At one point Dom jumped off the barricade and went for a hurricanrana. He didn’t make it all the way around and instead took a hard fall on the floor.
The referee called for a medic as Dom held his shoulder. While the ref was distracted Raquel hit Cena with the Tejana Bomb and Roxanne followed up with Pop Rox on the champion. They set him up on the ropes then Dom popped back up and connected with the 619 followed by a splash. The referee argued with Dominik instead of counting the pin. Raquel and Roxanne got up on the apron and the ref banished them to the backstage area.
Cena caught a second wind as he went for the Five Knuckle Shuffle. He connected with the move and put Dom on his shoulders for the AA, but Dom rolled him up for a two count. Cena kicked out and locked in the STF as Dom made it to the ropes. Dom unzipped his boot and Cena pulled it off as he went for the STF again.
Dominik connected with another 619 followed by a frog splash for a two count. Mysterio put his boot back on and Cena finally connected with the Attitude Adjustment, but Dom kicked out.
Cena went for a shoulder tackle which Dom dodged, so Cena hit the ref by accident and knocked him out of the ring. Cena locked in the STF then McDonagh and Balor ran out and beat Cena down while the ref was knocked out. Cena made a comeback and he put them both on his shoulder to deliver a double Attitude Adjustment.
Dominik Mysterio grabbed the Intercontinental Championship belt and brought it into the ring. He tried to hit Cena with it, but Cena dodged it then countered with the AA. He threw the belt out of the ring and Liv Morgan’s music hit.
She makes her way down to the ring. Dominik is excited to see her and he wants a hug. Liv then punches Dominik and Cena is in shock. Liv then turns around to Cena and jumps into his arms. She then has a distant look in her eyes. Liv then kicks Cena low. Dominik then hits a 619. Liv then hits Cena with the belt and Dominik hits a frog splash. Liv then rolls the referee back into the ring and Dominik gets the win.
